Disaster Recovery Manager

Introduction

This course is available to be delivered in a classroom and Live-Training model. Live Training brings you the dynamic environment of the classroom, to your desk. Using your computer, you interact with the trainer and the trainees as if you were with them in the classroom. This three day intensive course enables the participants to develop the necessary expertise to support an organization in implementing, maintaining and managing an ongoing Information and Communications Technology Disaster Recovery plan.

Training Methodology

This training is based on both theory and practice:

At the end of the course students should be able to:

• acquire knowledge on the implementation and management of an Information and communication technology (ICT) Disaster recovery approach aligned with ISO 24762 and ISO/IEC 27031.
• acquire knowledge on the goal, content and correlation between ISO 24762, ISO/IEC 27031, ISO 22301, ISO/IEC 27001, and other disaster recovery and business continuity standards and regulatory frameworks.
• Master the concepts, approaches, standards and techniques for the implementation and effective management of a Disaster
• Recovery approach according with the business continuity requirements of an organization.
• Interpret the requirements of the best practices (ISO 24762, ISO/IEC 27031, ISO 22301, ISO 27001) in the context of an ICT Disaster Recovery approach implementation.
• Develop the expertise to support an organization to plan, implement, manage, monitor and maintain a Disaster Recovery Plan.
• Acquire the expertise to advice an organization on Disaster Recovery best practices.
• Strength personal skills necessary for an ICT Disaster Recovery Professional to act with due professional care.

4. Certified Disaster Recovery Manager Exam

Exam

• The Certified Disaster Recovery Manager exam covers the following competence domains:
  • Domain 1: Fundamental concepts and principles of ICT Disaster Recovery
  • Domain 2: Planning for ICT Disaster Recovery
  • Domain 3: Implementation and Operation of an ICT Disaster Recovery framework and plan
  • Domain 4: Monitor, review and continual improve ICT Disaster Recovery Services
• The Certified Disaster Recovery Manager exam is available in different languages.
• Duration: 2 hours
• The exam result is sent via email to the candidate within eight weeks after the examination, being the exam result graduated in qualitative note: "Pass or Fail".
• In the case of a failure, the result will be accompanied with the list of domains in which you had a mark lower than the passing grade.

If the candidate fails the exam, he is entitled to one free retake within a 12 month period from the initial exam date.

Certification

After successfully completing the exam, participants can apply for the credentials: "Certified Provisional IT Disaster Recovery Manager" or "Certified IT Disaster Recovery Manager", depending on their level of experience.
A certificate will be issued to participants who successfully pass the exam and comply with all the other requirements related to the selected credential.
Disaster Recovery Manager program aligned with ISO 17024 standard.
