CISSP Path

This five-day SSCP© exam preparation course deals with the security concepts to be mastered in order to obtain SSCP certification. In an accelerated but rigorous manner, this training prepares the student for the SSCP examination, covering the entirety of the Common Body of Knowledge about security (CBK) as defined by the ISC2®. The CBK covers seven security domains: Access Controls; Security Operations and Administration; Risk Identification, Monitoring and Analysis; Incident Response and Recovery; Cryptography; Network and Communications Security; Systems and Application Security.

Training Methodology
In this SSCP certification preparation course, participants will review the main concepts of systems security according to the domains of the SSCP certification (ISC)2, consolidate their knowledge through exam simulation questions and in the end, realize a simulation exam in order to assess their level of knowledge and the amount of effort needed to be aligned and perform successfully the SSCP certification exam.

Audience
All those who wish to attain SSCP certification and have or intend to achieve a position of Network Security Engineer, Systems Administrator, Security Analyst, Systems Engineer, Security Consultant/Specialist, Security Administrator, Systems/Network Analyst and Database Administrator.

Prerequisites
Participants must understand English since the provided documentation is written in that language.

Learning Objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to:
  • Be prepared for the SSCP Certification exam based on the latest (ISC)2 CBK
  • Acquire the knowledge of how the different access control systems operate and how they are implemented to protect the system and its stored data. Also, acquire the knowledge in account management, access control concepts, and attack methods that are used to defeat access control systems
  • Acquire the knowledge about privacy issues, data classification, data integrity, audit, organization roles and responsibilities, policies, standards, guidelines, procedures, security awareness and configuration controls and the application of accepted industry practices
  • Understand the audit components and get to know the various methods of data collection, including data logging, sampling and reporting, in addition to analysis and audit review, and compliance check techniques. Also, understand the legal requirements for monitoring and audit activities
  • Understand the risk management process including risk analysis, threats and vulnerabilities, asset identification and risk management tools and techniques. Acquire knowledge on: how to perform security assessment activities; on the activities related to incident handling analysis; and, understand and support Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning
  • Understand the basic concepts in cryptography, public and private key algorithms, key distribution and management, methods of attack; the application, construction and use of digital signatures, and the principles of public key infrastructure and certification
  • Understand communications and network security as it relates to data and telecommunications in local area and wide area networks; remote access; internet/intranet/extranet configurations, use of firewalls, network equipment and protocols (such as TCP/IP), VPN’s, and techniques for preventing and detecting network based attacks
  • Acquire knowledge and understand the concepts of malicious and mobile code, types of malicious code threats, how malicious code is introduced into the environment, and various protection and recovery methods

Exam
  • SSCP exam is or is not included in the course. It is your choice. If included, we schedule your exam according to your availability.
  • SSCP exam is available on-site. During January 2021 (ISC)2 is undergoing tests to start the possibility of delivering exams online.
  • SSCP certification is based on a multiple-choice exam consisting of 125 multiple choice questions with 4 choices each, about the 7 domains of the CBK – Length: 3 hours. The passing mark is 70%.
  • For achieve the SSCP Certification, candidates must pass the SSCP exam and fulfill the remaining (ISC)2 requirements.

  • Digital Behaviour Participation Certificate with 35 CPD/CPE credits.
