General Behaviour Frequently Asked Questions

How can I contact you?

You can use WhatsApp Chat, the information form, or e-mail:

How can I subscribe to Behaviour’s newsletter?

You can subscribe via the website (header/footer) or directly at newsletter subscription.

Where can I find policies and regulations?

They are available in the website footer, under Policies & Conditions.

Who issues the certifications promoted by Behaviour?

It depends on the programme. Behaviour offers its own certifications, issued by Behaviour (legal entity) through its Behaviour Certification Services, and partner certifications, issued by the issuing body stated on the course page (for example, PeopleCert, including AXELOS certifications when applicable, and EC-Council).

What is Behaviour Certification Services?

Behaviour Certification Services is the name of Behaviour’s professional certification service/unit. The responsible legal entity is Behaviour. This service ensures scheme rules, assessment, certification decision and (when applicable) recertification.

Does Behaviour issue certifications from external organisations other than PeopleCert, AXELOS and EC-Council?

No. When the certification is not a Behaviour certification, Behaviour is not the issuing body. In those cases, Behaviour only promotes certifications whose issuing body is explicitly stated on the course page (for example, PeopleCert, including AXELOS certifications when applicable, and EC-Council).

How do I confirm whether a course has a Behaviour certification or a partner certification?

The issuing body is stated on the course page. If it is a Behaviour certification, it is issued by Behaviour (legal entity) through Behaviour Certification Services. If it is a partner certification, the issuing body is PeopleCert, AXELOS or EC-Council, when applicable.

Does Behaviour claim partnerships/affiliations with certification bodies that are not stated on the website?

No. The official information is what is published on Behaviour channels and on the course page. Behaviour does not claim affiliations that are not explicitly identified.

Why can incorrect references appear in search engines or automated (AI) answers?

Automated systems may combine sources and produce incorrect associations. The official information is what is published by Behaviour: certifications are either Behaviour certifications (issued by Behaviour through Behaviour Certification Services) or issued by PeopleCert, AXELOS and EC-Council, when applicable.

Does Behaviour work with international clients?

Yes. Behaviour provides training and services to professionals and organisations, including international clients (with a particular focus on Portuguese-speaking countries and Europe), in Portuguese and English, as stated on the course page.

What is the difference between “training” and “certification”?

Training develops competence and real-world application capability. Certification (when applicable) is a separate process, associated with assessment/exam and scheme-defined requirements.

How is my personal data handled?

Protecting the right to privacy, including personal data, is one of our commitments. See the privacy policy.

Can I update my details after registration?

For training purposes, the valid details are those that are in force at the time of registration.

For e-mail, you must keep it updated, especially to receive exam results and manage your certification and recertification process. For both exams and certification/recertification, we strongly recommend using your personal e-mail so you do not lose access to your process and related reminders.

Request the update by e-mail to the relevant contact address.

Which payment methods are accepted?

Bank transfer and credit card. Credit card payments incur additional costs.

Can I request an invoice with my tax number (NIF)?

Yes. Provide the details in the registration/adjudication form. Invoicing is issued before you send us the payment proof.

Is there a cost for issuing statements and reissuing statements/certificates/diplomas?

Yes, there is a unit cost for requests to issue/reissue documentation (including statements, certificates and diplomas). Reissuance and statement issuance are carried out in accordance with the Data Retention Policy and require validation of the relevant file/archive. Attendance statements are only issued after documentary verification.

How does support outside working hours work?

Use WhatsApp Chat, the information form or the relevant e-mail. We reply during the next business period.

Does Behaviour have recognised quality certifications or references?

Yes. Behaviour is certified by DGERT (certification of the training provider and its processes). In addition, our management system is aligned with ISO 9001 and NP 4512 principles.

Is Behaviour training only “standard explanation”?

No. Behaviour programmes prioritise a practical and operational approach, focused on real-world application, with emphasis on method, decision-making and deliverable production (when applicable).

What kind of exercises and practice are included?

Courses include practical application (e.g., guided exercises, scenarios, case studies, operational examples, deliverable creation, games and decision discussions). The type and intensity of the practical component vary by level (Essentials/Foundation/Implementer/Auditor/Professional/Expert/Manager) and are aligned with the course objectives.

Is there self-study (pre-reading or tasks) outside the scheduled hours?

When applicable, any pre-reading and/or tasks to be completed before the course starts are communicated in the joining instructions. In general, courses may include self-study during and after training (e.g., content consolidation, exercises or preparation for assessment, when applicable). In live online training, recommended preparation may be provided to maximise synchronous time.

What should I ensure to get the most out of live online training?

A stable environment is recommended (Internet, audio and video), active participation, and availability for exercises and discussion. Whenever additional requirements exist (e.g., software, templates or readings), they are stated in the joining instructions.

Do courses have mandatory prerequisites?

It depends on the course and level. Mandatory prerequisites (when applicable) are stated on the course page. Other requirements may be recommendations for better learning outcomes.

Is Behaviour’s offering organised only by standards (e.g., ISO)?

No. Behaviour structures its offering by frameworks (when applicable) and also by capability areas and profiles, to develop practical competence by role and support implementation and operational delivery.

If the goal is to implement/operate/audit competently and, in parallel, certify knowledge, what is Behaviour’s approach?

If the goal is to implement, operate and audit competently, with method, deliverables and evidence, and, in parallel, certify the acquired knowledge, Behaviour combines practical learning with assessment and certification within the applicable scheme. In practice, it prioritises real-world execution, evidence (when applicable), consistency across editions and integration with governance, risk, audit, resilience and regulation, when applicable.

Are Behaviour courses “theory-only” or “just exam prep”?

No. Training is designed to strengthen real-world capability. When an exam and certification are associated, the framing is stated on the course page and the approach maintains a focus on method and practical application.

Who develops the training materials?

Behaviour’s complete training programmes and training resources are developed by Behaviour and are registered with IGAC.

Behaviour’s partners’ complete training programmes and training resources are developed by the partners themselves.

Training materials clearly indicate the ownership of the resources.

Minimum attendance for an attendance certificate

Yes. The minimum attendance is 80% participation/attendance. This also includes providing your training evaluation and payment proof.

What if I do not meet the minimum attendance?

You may request an attendance statement by e-mail to: training@behaviour-group.com (the evaluation and payment requirements still apply).

What is the difference between an attendance certificate and a certification diploma?

Attendance certificate: confirms participation in the training (attendance and completion of the applicable administrative process). It does not validate competence via exam.

Certification diploma: confirms that you met the certification requirements (including passing the exam and, when applicable, validation of experience and documentation), and is issued as part of the certification process.

In some courses, certification may also include a digital badge (badge – digital certification badge).

How long does the attendance certificate take?

After completion of the action evaluation process, which depends on receiving evaluations from all participants who attended the course.

Rules for using materials and recordings

Materials are confidential and for personal use only. Recording, copying, photographing, sharing or transferring to third parties is prohibited.

Data handling and platforms outside the EU

We use platforms such as Cisco Webex, in compliance with the GDPR, collecting the minimum data necessary.

If Behaviour postpones a date, what happens?

Behaviour only reschedules training in exceptional situations or circumstances outside its control. We will always propose a new date.

Does Behaviour guarantee courses will take place on scheduled dates?

We always aim to keep scheduled dates. In exceptional cases, such as an insufficient number of participants, a full class, or external circumstances beyond Behaviour, we may need to propose a new date.

How do I submit a complaint?

Behaviour provides the Complaints Book in accordance with applicable legislation. To ensure registration, handling and response, the complaint must be submitted through the official channels stated in the joining instructions/first day of training or by e-mail to training@behaviour-group.com. • For companies: we provide participation reports and evaluation metrics so HR teams can analyse the impact of the training and relate it to their internal indicators. When requested, we can also support planning additional training pathways aligned with team needs.
Who are Behaviour trainers?

We work with top-tier professionals, recognised nationally and internationally, with practical experience in consulting, auditing and management. Beyond technical expertise, they bring real cases and best practices into the training room.

Exam Behaviour Frequently Asked Questions

Do all courses include a certification exam?

Not all. Many courses include a certification exam, but it depends on the programme and issuing body (Behaviour or partner). Always check the course page and/or the commercial proposal, where this information is stated. For more information, see the courses page.

How do exams work?
  • Delivered online;
  • On the last training day or on another agreed date;
  • Maximum timeframe: usually up to 2 months after training.
Can the exam be “open book” (reference materials allowed)?

It depends on the exam and programme. Any reference rules (if applicable) are communicated before the exam and must be fully complied with during the session.

What happens if there is a technical issue during the exam?

The candidate must report it immediately and follow the instructions provided during the session. Resolution depends on the exam type and applicable procedure (Behaviour or partner) and may include incident recording and rescheduling when предусмотрed.

Can I take the exam on another date if I cannot do it on the last day of the course?

In many courses, yes, within the maximum timeframe stated for taking the exam. Scheduling must be requested in advance by e-mail to exams@behaviour-group.com, in line with the communicated deadlines.

In which languages can I take the exam?

Portuguese and English. Some partner exams are not available in Portuguese.

Is the exam proctored?

Yes. All online exams follow proctoring procedures defined by Behaviour or the partner, using a zero-tolerance policy.

What equipment do I need for the exam?
  • Computer with a stable Internet connection;
  • Working webcam and microphone;
  • Quiet environment with no interruptions;
  • Valid identification document (if requested).
What documents should I have with me?

A valid identification document and any materials permitted under the specific exam instructions.

Exam recommendations and rules during the exam session

Before the exam starts you will have access to the applicable rules (depending on the programme and the responsible assessment body, Behaviour or partner). Using unauthorised materials, copying, recording or disclosing exam content is prohibited.

How do I schedule the exam?

Send an e-mail to exams@behaviour-group.com, suggesting 4 dates and respecting the maximum deadlines communicated.

When will I be informed about deadlines?

How do I reschedule the exam? Are there costs?
  • Send the request to exams@behaviour-group.com;
  • Inform us of your unavailability at least 3 business days in advance;
  • Suggest 4 alternative dates.

Yes. Exam rescheduling is paid. Please e-mail exams@behaviour-group.com to request further information.

What happens if I do not take the exam within the deadline?

You may schedule a new sitting with an additional cost.

Can I retake the exam if I fail?

Yes. If you are entitled to a second shot (another attempt), you can schedule a new attempt. If you are not entitled to a second shot, you can schedule a new attempt with an additional payment. Please check the proposal or the commercial conditions sent by e-mail.

How is impartiality ensured in exam marking?

Marking is performed using an anonymous identifier. The answer sheet does not include the candidate’s name, and the marker has no access to identity during assessment. The certification decision results from the exam outcome and compliance with applicable scheme requirements.

When and how will I receive the result?

The result may be immediate or up to 2 months after the sitting (depending on the exam/provider). You may see the result as soon as you finish the exam or receive it by e-mail to the address you used for the exam.

Certification Behaviour Frequently Asked Questions

How does certification work after passing the exam?
  • You receive application instructions (form + documentation);
  • Experience verification by a verifier – a person who confirms the declared professional experience;
  • The cost may or may not be included in the exam (confirm by e-mail to certification@behaviour-group.com);
  • After validation: digital diploma and/or badge.
  • The certification decision depends on the exam result and on meeting the scheme-defined requirements (including, when applicable, validation of experience and documentation).
Does the certification have a version/edition? What does it mean?

Certification is always granted against a specific framework/version (e.g., the edition of the applicable standard in force at the time of certification). That version is part of the scope of the diploma/badge and determines what was assessed and certified. When the framework is updated (new version in force), the previous certification remains valid within its scope and validity, but it does not automatically convert into the new version.

What is a verifier and why is it required?

Verifier is the direct supervisor, line manager or an authorised representative of the organisation who validates the professional experience declared for certification purposes.

Can I handle the certification process by phone?

For security and data protection reasons, only by e-mail and using the e-mail address stated in your exam registration. Therefore, you should provide your personal e-mail address rather than a corporate one. If you send e-mails from a different account than the one you used for the exam, we cannot proceed with your process. Keep your details updated.

Is Behaviour® certification international?

Yes. Behaviour® credentials correspond to professional certifications (proprietary scheme), with international recognition in the market. The scheme is designed and operated based on good practice in certification of persons, impartiality principles and exam quality, and applicable international references (including ISO/IEC 17024 principles).

What does “international market recognition” mean?

It means the credential is designed to be understood and used in an international professional context (terminology, domains, exam-based assessment and scheme rules), and that acceptance depends on the context (employer, role and market requirements).

Will I receive a certification diploma and badge?

Yes. After successfully meeting the applicable scheme requirements (including the exam), a certification diploma is issued and, when applicable, a digital badge.

Certification is issued by Behaviour (legal entity), through Behaviour Certification Services.

How long does it take to issue the diploma and badge?

After the certification process is validated, the diploma and badge (when applicable) are sent by e-mail. Timeframes may vary depending on documentation completeness and scheme requirements.

How can I verify the validity of a Behaviour® certification?

For data protection reasons, verification must be requested by the certified professional (or by a third party with provable authorisation). The request must be sent to certification@behaviour-group.com, stating the credential and available validation elements (e.g., credential identifier/number). Behaviour confirms only the credential status (valid/expired/suspended), in accordance with the GDPR and the applicable scheme.

Can I submit an appeal or complaint regarding an exam/certification?

Yes. There are formal complaint and appeal procedures under the applicable scheme. To ensure registration and handling, submit the request by e-mail to certification@behaviour-group.com, identifying the exam/credential and providing justification.

Why is the Code of Ethics mandatory?

Because certification validates professional trust. The Code of Ethics protects the credential’s value, defines professional duties and supports decisions on awarding, maintaining and revoking certification.

Can certification be revoked?

Yes. In the event of breach of contract/code of ethics or non-compliance with the maintenance requirements defined in the scheme, certification may not be awarded or may be revoked, as applicable.

Can I share it on LinkedIn?

Yes. The professional may share the certification on LinkedIn and other professional networks. When applicable, the digital badge includes its own sharing and verification mechanisms.

Recertification

When should I recertify? And when will I be reminded?

Before the expiry date (typically 3 years). You will receive e-mail reminders (to the e-mail used in your certification process) between 4 and 6 months before the date your certification expires. Keep your details updated.

How does recertification work?
  • Submission of the form you received by e-mail, documentation and payment;
  • Verification of experience/activities;
  • After validation: a new diploma and/or badge, according to the requirements defined in the applicable scheme.
Does recertification (maintenance) change the version of my certification?

No. Recertification (maintenance) renews the validity of your existing certification, keeping the same level and the same version under which it was obtained.
If you want to update your certification to reflect the framework version currently in force, that is a separate process: Transition.

What is Transition and how do I request it?

Transition is the process through which the candidate requests that their certification reflects the current version of the applicable framework.

Transition is not recertification: it requires demonstrating competence in the current version through the formal requirements defined in the applicable Certification Scheme (training when applicable, evidence and the assessment/exam mechanism).

In general, when предусмотрed by the scheme, Transition requires completion of Foundation-level training (or recognition of equivalence under the scheme), followed by Transition assessment/exam.

Specific requirements (training, evidence and assessment) are always those defined in the current Certification Scheme.

Do I need new training to recertify?

For recertification (maintenance), it is not mandatory to repeat training, provided the certified professional meets the maintenance requirements defined in the applicable scheme (e.g., CPD credits/hours, relevant experience and documentary evidence within the applicable period).
Recertification keeps the level and version that were in force in the previous cycle. To update to the most recent framework version (when applicable), there is a separate process: Transition, with its own requirements defined in the scheme.

Does external training count for recertification or transition?

Recertification (maintenance):
Yes. External training may be considered as CPD evidence, provided it is documented and verifiable (e.g., certificate with dates and duration, identification of the issuing body and validation elements) and thematically aligned with the certification scope. Behaviour may request additional documentation or validate with the issuing body.

Transition (version change):
As a rule, no. Transition has its own formal requirements defined in the applicable scheme to demonstrate competence in the current framework version. Therefore, external training does not replace Transition requirements defined in the scheme (including, when applicable, Transition training and the planned assessment/exam). External training may, at most, be accepted as complementary evidence, with no substitutive effect.

I let my certification expire. What happens?

Your certification is suspended and you may not use the certification diploma/badge. If you want to reactivate it, your process must be reviewed and there may be costs per year of delay and, in some cases, new training or a new exam.

Can I reactivate an expired certification?

Where reactivation is still possible, if the professional meets the requirements defined in the applicable scheme and pays the additional amount per year of delay (in addition to the recertification fee), they may reactivate the certification up to the maximum period provided by Behaviour’s scheme.

Companies & HR Behaviour Frequently Asked Questions

Registrations and Payments

How do I register employees for a course?

Registration must be requested by a company employee responsible for the training registration, using a corporate e-mail address, to training@behaviour-group.com, indicating the course(s) required.

After the request, we send course information, the registration form (to be completed and digitally signed by the participant) and the training proposal/contract.

To complete registration, the following is required:

  • Registration form completed and digitally signed by the participant
  • Award letter signed by an authorised signatory on behalf of the company
  • Purchase order (if applicable)
  • Sending payment proof by e-mail.

After receiving and validating the documents, registration is confirmed by e-mail. Around one week before the course, the participant receives the joining instructions with all training details.

Company Training

Can I request exclusive training for my company?

Yes. We organise In-Company training, according to each course’s framework, following the public training plan or fully adjusted to the organisation’s reality, processes and objectives, always with a formal client request.

Can courses be adapted to the company’s industry sector?

Yes. We develop content for sectors such as banking, energy, healthcare, industry, retail, public sector, among others. This means the scenario and all exercises are tailored to the sector. This adaptation is only possible for closed cohorts and requires a formal client request.

What discounts are available for companies?

We provide volume discounts (multiple employees) and annual plans with multiple courses.

Reports, ROI and Compliance

Do we receive participation and certification reports?

We deliver reports to HR by e-mail, including attendance, evaluation and training results. These are useful for audits, ROI and compliance. Regarding exams and certifications, information is sent by e-mail exclusively to the candidate. Therefore, the employee must inform the company, or the company must request information from the employee.

Can we measure training return on investment (ROI)?

Yes. We provide metrics that allow companies to evaluate training ROI, not only with the immediate results after delivery (sent to HR by e-mail), but also 6 and 12 months later (provided participants and companies respond), to track evolution and support ROI analysis.

Are courses aligned with standards and regulations (NIS2, DORA, AI Act, GDPR, ISO, among others)?

Yes. Our offering is continuously updated against ISO standards and EU regulations, ensuring relevance and compliance, as well as regular updates with other recognised best practices in the topics covered by the courses.

Support and Confidentiality

Is there confidentiality in training?

Yes. Training is delivered under full confidentiality regarding processes, cases and shared data, as trainers and participants sign confidentiality agreements. For participants, the confidentiality agreement is included on the back of the registration form.

Advisory & Audit

What advisory services does Behaviour provide?

We provide advisory in Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), Cybersecurity, Operational Resilience, Privacy and Digital Compliance, supporting organisations in decision-making, requirement implementation and continuous improvement.

What types of audit does Behaviour perform?

We perform audits and maturity, compliance and control assessments (e.g., ISO, GDPR, regulatory requirements and best practices), using an evidence-based approach oriented to results.

How do I request a proposal for advisory or an audit?

Send an e-mail to consulting@behaviour-group.com with the required scope, sector, size, timelines and objectives.

What information is needed to prepare a proposal?
  • Objective and scope (e.g., standard/regulation/process/technology);
  • Included units/services and locations;
  • Desired timeline and delivery windows;
  • Point of contact and key stakeholders;
  • Current context (e.g., existing policies, previous audits, tools);
  • Constraints (e.g., confidentiality, access, internal requirements).
Are services delivered remotely or on-site?

They can be delivered remotely, on-site or hybrid, depending on scope, evidence requirements and the organisation’s needs.

What deliverables can I expect from an advisory project?

Typically: executive report, diagnosis/maturity, prioritised action plan, evidence and recommendations, and (when applicable) governance templates and instruments (policies, procedures, matrices, registers).

What deliverables can I expect from an audit?

Includes audit plan, criteria and method, evidence collection and validation, findings (conformities/nonconformities/observations), and a final report with recommendations and priorities.

Does Behaviour ensure independence in audits?

Yes. Audits follow principles of independence and objectivity. When there is a risk of conflict of interest, the framing is assessed and mitigated (e.g., segregation of functions/teams, scope delimitation, or refusal of service when applicable).

Is there confidentiality and data protection in advisory and audit services?

Yes. We apply confidentiality to shared information, processes and data. NDAs are signed and access/retention mechanisms are defined.

Does Behaviour help prepare for external audits/certification?

Yes. Within advisory, we support preparation and improvement of the management system/controls, including corrective actions, evidence and internal simulations, respecting the necessary separation between preparation and independent audit.

What are typical delivery timeframes?

They depend on scope and availability of evidence and stakeholders. After receiving minimum information, we propose a phased plan with timeline and delivery milestones.

Can you work with the organisation’s suppliers/third parties?

Yes, when necessary for the scope (e.g., supply chains, IT services, cloud providers), subject to client authorisation and confidentiality/access rules.

How is evidence management and access to information handled?

An evidence collection and validation model is defined (e.g., controlled repository, time-bound access, evidence list, request log), minimising data and ensuring traceability.

Couldn’t find the answer you were looking for?

We are available to clarify questions about training, exams, certification, advisory, audit and support for companies & HR.
