Introduction
The ISO 42001 Lead Auditor course is supported by a practical case study and challenges participants to plan, conduct, report and follow up audits of an Artificial Intelligence Management System (AIMS), based on the requirements of ISO/IEC 42001 and internationally recognised best practices.
Beyond mastering the concepts, principles and clause-by-clause requirements of the standard, the course focuses on developing the ability to audit AI systems in a structured, consistent and technically robust way, through a step-by-step audit methodology proposed by BEHAVIOUR. This approach integrates audit programme planning, the definition of criteria and objectives, the assessment of risks associated with AI use, the analysis of technical and organisational controls, the verification of governance, ethics, transparency and accountability requirements, evidence collection and validation, the formulation of findings and report writing, as well as the follow-up of corrective and improvement actions.
The ISO 42001 Lead Auditor course also connects with best practices in technology governance, risk management and digital compliance, ensuring an integrated view between artificial intelligence, security, compliance and audit, preparing participants to act as Lead Auditors in internal, third-party or ISO/IEC 42001 certification audits, with rigour, independence and alignment with emerging regulatory and organisational expectations.
