EXCELLENCE AND LEADERSHIP LEVEL — technical authority and leadership in governance.
Why this course exists
To transform ISO 45001 requirements into real, evidence-based implementation integrated with operations.
Many organisations carry out OHS activities, but fail when they need to demonstrate operational control, fulfilment of obligations and continuous improvement with consistent evidence. This course prepares professionals to design and implement an OH&SMS in accordance with ISO 45001, with method, consistency and results orientation, including integration with existing processes and third-party management.
What this course enables you to do
Structure
Define context, scope, policy, roles and responsibilities and the OH&SMS governance model, ensuring coherence and traceability.
Implement
Design and implement ISO 45001 processes — planning, assessment of risks and opportunities, legal and other requirements, operational control, emergency preparedness and response.
Operationalise
Translate requirements into operational routines, competences, communication, third-party control and evidence, with a focus on system effectiveness and sustainability.
Improve
Define performance measurement, internal audit, management review, treatment of nonconformities and continuous improvement based on data and evidence.

Value for the organisation
- Greater operational control in OHS, with defined processes, consistent evidence and reduced variability.
- Improved conformity — legal obligations and other requirements — with traceability and systematic monitoring.
- Reduced incidents and risk exposure through risk and opportunity management integrated with operations.
- Ability to demonstrate OH&SMS maturity to clients, partners, insurers and relevant entities.
Introduction
The ISO 45001 Lead Implementer course is supported by a practical case study and challenges participants to design, implement, maintain and improve an Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OH&SMS), based on the requirements of ISO 45001 and recognised best practices.
In addition to mastering the concepts, principles and clause-by-clause requirements, the course focuses on the ability to put the standard into practice, through a step-by-step methodology proposed by BEHAVIOUR. This approach integrates the definition of context and scope, identification of legal and other requirements, assessment of OHS risks and opportunities, design and operational control, performance measurement and continuous improvement, supported by templates, tools and resources oriented towards evidence.
The ISO 45001 Lead Implementer course also frames integration with other management systems — ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 — and strengthens the link between planning, operation and performance evaluation, preparing participants to sustain the implementation and evolution of the OH&SMS in a real context.
